Cork, here we come !

We’re delighted to come and play in Cork for the first time !

We will be conducted by Neil Tomson and accompanied by the violonist Mairéad Hickey.

This concert will support Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, a Corkbased charity dedicated to enhancing the independence and mobility of people who are vision impaired or living with autism.

Conductor

Neil Thomson

Neil has been the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Goiás Philharmonic Orchestra since 2014.
He was previously the Head of Conducting at the Royal College of Music from 1992 to 2006. He has conducted many of the top orchestras around the world. He has also conducted the amateur Cork Concert Orchestra in Cork City Hall on numerous occasions, and knows the venue and the crowds intimately!

Soloist

Mairéad Hickey

Our soloist will be former Irish NCH Young Musician of the Year, Corkonian Mairéad Hickey. Mairéad has a Masters in Performanc from Kronberg Academy, and has won numerous prizes internationally. As a soloist, she has performed in some of the major halls around the world. She is also a fabulous traditional Irish fiddle player, and has won eight world Irish fiddle titles.
